Day 587 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

26 years ago tonight, Brant and I had dinner at the Holiday Inn in Culver City with old friends, Angie and Sam. Angie was (is) a dear friend who sang with me in college and church choir. I was 9 months + 2 weeks pregnant. Over dinner we discussed baby names since we still had not finalized our name choice for "Curly Joe" (obviously he was two weeks overdue already). Angie laughed at us and said he was waiting until we made our decision regarding his name. We decided on the name "Grayson" that night and he was born about nine hours later.

Our vigil that evening was filled with uncertainty and joy and was shared with friends – as is every day currently.
