Day 518 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

Palm Sunday – Holy Week begins!

Grayson was quite alert and "with it" today. Right at the beginning of the church service this morning, our pastor had everyone raise their palm branches so that they might be blessed prior to the processional. Grayson's arm shot up with his branch before we could even pick ours up! He was alert during the service, sang hymns and even said the Lord's Prayer today for the first time in as long as I can remember.

Grayson remained alert throughout the day as we had lunch then proceeded to work in the garden. Having to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the back garden helps to keep us all in shape! We potted some new plants, sprayed for bugs in the herb garden and worked on the dripper system. Grayson was with me the entire time mostly watching, but helping when he could. And he certainly went up and down a lot of stairs today!

Holy Week is always a busy time for our family. This year we have appointments with new doctors for Grayson to add to the activity level! Then right after Easter Grayson and I will head off to Mammoth to participate in the Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra Annual Springtacular a special four-day event designed for participants of all ages with cognitive disabilities. This may be our last ski trip of the season, but I also said that after our trip in March!

It was a great day!

Pax!

Brant
