Day 687 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

A new week, a new month and the last quarter of the work year started today. Oh my goodness – do all of those objectives and goals need to be accomplished so quickly? 2011 is rapidly disappearing!

Grayson was great today. After work we went for a walk (3500 steps, but who is counting!) before putting dinner on the grill. The outing and exercise always does Grayson good. Tonight we had a relaxed night and watched Grayson's favorite pre-injury TV show, House, before heading off to bed.

Downtime is good!

Pax!

  1. Perspective gives one different ideas about what "important" means. Orbital mechanics presents "deadlines." Employers have "preferences." They call them deadlines, but when you compare them to the inescapable physical truths of real deadlines... fuming and fussing about "making the deadline" can be just plain silly.

And it's quite interesting to juxtapose the "goals" of the work year against what those of us who walk the Neurological Highway get presented as our "goals."

And of what we know to be the things that are really important.

There's certainly a lot of incidental benefit to making our employers happy. But are all those work-related things actually important?

We who walk the Neurological Highway... we know the truth.
