Day 612 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

Today Grayson got to meet a new neurologist. We have been very happy with the care that we have received from the Doctors of USC so we decided to try their neurology department. We were not disappointed. His new neurologist spent time with Grayson and Regina and gave her an education. It was another positive experience for them at University Medical Center.

This evening Regina asked Grayson how old he is. This is one of many orientation questions that we constantly ask so that he learns important items about himself and his location. His answer was typical – 21, as always. Regina followed up with, "How much older are you than Austin?" He responded, "2 years." She told him that Austin is 24 (close enough for this exercise!). After a little back and forth work with Regina, he finally answered his age correctly – 26. Then she asked Grayson how old she is. Grayson's response – "Much older!"

Thank God for Grayson's good nature and the gift of laughter.

Pax!

  2. Our favorite answer to a similar question goes like this. When Mary told our grandson Alex when he was about 4 how old she was, he looked up at her and said, "Oh, Granny...that's a really big number!"

Got to love kids at whatever age! Blessings to you all. Steve and Mary
