Day 373 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

Today was a good day for Grayson, both in terms of fun and good work!

Grayson was picked up a little early because there was a Thanksgiving Feast at the clinic. The staff put on the feast and all of the patients participated. The meal provided the opportunity for some "real life" therapy also! Grayson participated after the meal by moving and putting tables away and packaging the leftovers. There is therapy in everything we do!

Other things he accomplished at the clinic today:
  • Successfully answered orientation questions (What is your address, phone, etc.)
  • Performed auditory comprehension of 36 to 50 words
  • Carried a backpack of 10 lbs down 5 flights of stairs then walked across Ventura Boulevard (with supervision) to Office Depot. (What he did there is a mystery!)
  • Enduring one of the sensory testing machines (he doesn't like these very much!)
  • Successfully cleaned one of the luncheon pots
He had activity, exercise, good food, friends, and accomplishment. What more could any of us want!

Pax!

  1. Hi Brant and Regina:

This post reminds me of how much we all have to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving season.

Your family is at the top of our list, and Grayson's progress is there, too. God is so good, and we are simply thankful for His personal care and love for each of us.

    In Him,

    Doug
