Day 570 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

Today was another day of "alert Grayson". Today we were particularly impressed by his speaking attempts. If you have heard Grayson recently, he is not very understandable when he does talk. (The use of consonants is minimal with Grayson.) I suspect that he knows this and therefore resorts to non-verbal methods of communicating. Regina does not let him get away with this and makes him put in the effort to verbalize what he wants.

Today on four separate occasions he responded to Regina with voluntary multi-word sentences without being cued. I was there for the last one. Regina asked him, "Grayson, what time is it?" he responded, "Time for me to go to bed." I couldn't believe it – those 7 words just came out, and they were understandable!
