Dear family and friends
I’m home for a few days in the midst of a travel flurry!
Today between rescheduled physician visits and work, I had a short time to
observe Grayson’s new caregiver in action. She is sweet and loving and keeps
him very busy – walks, games, outdoor games, reading – quite a full schedule.
We went to dinner tonight with Regina’s brother Howie, her sister
Rita and her husband Richard, Austin and Xixi. Howie looks great and has a
great attitude amidst his grief. While Julie will be missed by all of us, Howie
will miss his partner most of all. I still have fond memories of singing the Hawaiian Wedding Song with Regina at
their wedding on board the Fair Wind
in Kealakekua Bay at sunset on July 4th 1984. Farewell sweet Julie –
I will miss you.Grayson was quite alert today, but with the alertness comes the inability to sit still. At dinner he just couldn’t stay sitting. He would just stand up in his mostly controlled way for no apparent reason. I’m not sure he even understood why. We are in a bit of an up cycle which is good – we just need to cope with the difficulty it often brings. I wonder if he will stay in bed tonight?
Pax!
Brant
