Dear family and friends
While yesterday was a low-key and disengaged day for Grayson, today he was quite "with it". Regina picked him up from the clinic and they decided to do dinner instead of fighting the traffic home. In the middle of dinner Grayson stood up and Regina asked him where he was going, and he said, "the rest room." There were two key things there – he initiated going to the rest room (generally if we don't remind him often he doesn't go) and he communicated his intention. Initiation and communication – two key things!
This evening after arriving home from after dinner, he was heading up the stairs carrying his lunchbox, a sweatshirt and a drink. Regina offered to carry the drink and Grayson responded, "Now I can hold the railing." Regina was floored, as this was six words in a row, they were understandable and they were not just parroted back.
Today was a very good day!
Pax!

OH! I am so happy by reading this post! Way to go Grayson. I think he is loving it!
ReplyDeleteAnd, by the way, the Ducks found a uniform that worked for them tonight! Now, next on the schedule are your beloved Trojans, and I'm excited to watch that game....two really good programs.
In Him,
Doug
PS. Go DUCKS!
Two fabulous things in one day! Regina must have been overwhelmed with that reality. May we see many more days like this, strung in a row like pearls.
ReplyDeletelove, Robin
P.S. the Ducks . . . they did it right last night.
What wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteI know yesterday was trying for you... but one just can't know whether the "bad" day was recuperation masquerading as deficiency, and yesterday's "down" created today's "up."
In all things give thanks... sometimes, even the annoyances merit thank-yous. Who can tell? Better to play it safe--in all things, give thanks.
