Day 195 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

This morning we headed north to Bakersfield to spend the next few days with Grayson. Today we spent our day at the residence. The big buzz today was the opening of the pool for the season! We wasted no time, and spent the afternoon swimming and soaking up the sun. Here is a picture of Grayson in the pool today. Grayson was excited to be in the pool, even though the water was still pretty cold. Fortunately the air was warm, so the overall experience was quite nice. What fun it was to watch him explore all of the sensations of being in the water again – sort of like watching a child discover a swimming pool.

Grayson continues to be relatively non-verbal, and he was a bit disconnected today. On the good side, his one-word answers were clearer, and his hand tremors seemed to be further reduced.

Tonight, Grayson went to a play at a local theatre. When we left him, he was preparing dinner under the watchful eye of his residential assistant (RA). We'll pick him up in the morning and take him to church.

Regina and I got to have a date tonight!

Pax!

Brant
