Dear family and friends
Grayson had another good day today. This morning he slept in a bit (until 8:00 AM) then he got up and ready for his day. After the morning routine he took out the trash, brought in the newspaper (a Sunday treat) and did some laundry. After lunch he went to the pool for an hour and a half. After he got changed back into clothes he went for a walk in the park. He did a few other cleaning chores in the afternoon then started dinner prep. Under the watchful eyes of "the" residential assistant (RA) Grayson made a casserole for his roommate and himself tonight. After dinner he read his xkcd comic book then went to bed listening to one of his audio books.
The reason I said "the" RA, is that Grayson is now sharing an RA with his roommate. While he no longer has a 1-on-1 RA, it is a demonstration of just a bit more improvement that it is no longer required while at the residence. Another positive sign!
This weekend we were surrounded by love from family and friends from several walks of life. This morning at church Regina was so touched by all of the love shown her by the congregation. After church, we had the honor of participating in the 100th birthday celebration of the woman we all call "Grammy". How often in your life do you get to attend something like that! Not only was the celebration for such an accomplished woman a whopping success, we were for the third time this weekend overwhelmed by the expressions of love, support and kindness for Grayson. Here is a picture of Grayson and many of the rest of his cousins with Grammy in 2006.
It was truly a blessed weekend of remembrances, love, friends, family and long overdue hugs. We love you all.
Pax!
Brant
