Day 288 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

Grayson had a good day today. He did much of the usual – chores, laundry, trash, dinner prep. After dinner Grayson and his roommate played Uno with their residential assistant (RA). She said that they were conspiring to bend a few rules and that she thought that was quite funny. The minds were working!

I spoke with Grayson just after he laid down for bed but had not yet gone to sleep. The cordless phone was broken so he had to hoof it into the kitchen to talk to me on the wired headset. He chatted for a little bit then wanted to get back to bed – and his audio book!

Counting down to the first home visit!

Pax!

  1. Hi Brant and Regina:

Wow, this "story" has so many phases and challenges, and "over comings" and bumps, and joys, and discouragements, and encouragements!

To graph ones feelings about this journey would provide an amazing chart, and the lesson the chart might show is that the journey continues, facts are facts but aren't cold hopelessness or bundles of cotton candy, but are guideposts for adjustments and more work. "Going Home"...I just loved it! I still wonder about my "chart", and the facts that it shows, the guideposts learned and followed [or not followed, sometimes] but the underlying and over shadowing evidence that God is truly good, He ain't easy, and He will do His Work in us and in others, and that His tapestry is being woven, and the result will just amaze us when we finally get to stand back far enough and look and enjoy it. "Going Home" is a celebration....and I say "Cheers!"

    In Him,

    Doug
