Day 230 – Grayson’s Journey

Dear family and friends

If you follow this blog regularly, you are probably starting to get the basic routine of patients like Grayson. Routine may seem boring or overly confining to you and me, but to patients recovering from brain injury, a dependable set of activities and expectations is a major comfort. So, since today is Saturday, Grayson did what Grayson always does on Saturday morning – he got on the bus at 9:00 AM and went to WinCo Foods to do his grocery shopping for the week.

Later in the day, long after groceries were put away and lunch was made and consumed, Grayson's residential assistant (RA) suggested some pool time, and Grayson thought that was a good idea! Grayson hustled to get his chores done and made an early dinner. After dinner his RA and Grayson spent about 90 minutes playing in the pool – and I am told that Grayson had a blast! I talked to Grayson after he was in bed and he seemed to remember the pool time and the fun. That is great news for a parent anxious to hear good news!

We'll be traveling to see him in the morning. Prayers for safe travel!

Pax!

Brant
