Dear family and friends
Today was another good day for Grayson! It has been quite a while since we have had a string of good days, so this is increasingly good news. Just to manage expectations – good days mean good moods, cooperation, and fewer cues required to accomplish chores. A good day is not a miracle cure, but it potentially is keeping the door open to options as Grayson prepares to transition from CNS to his next recovery location.
Today Grayson was not anxious, and was calm all evening. He required very minimal cues to do his part with dinner preparation and clean-up. After dinner, he went on a personal errand outing with his residential assistant (RA) and several other patients and RAs. He purchased shampoo, body wash and after shave lotion. He was unable to get the haircut that he wanted, because the line at the salon was too long.
Grayson has been walking with the speed of a slower than normal turtle lately. Tonight he walked with more speed and a bit of spring in his step.
When they returned to the residence, Grayson tossed in a load of laundry before getting ready for bed. When I spoke with him he was reading his xkcd comic book while lying in bed. Sweet dreams, Grayson!
Pax!
